High School District 211 represented among I.S.B.E. 2006 Those Who Excel award recipients

Township High School District 211 was represented among the recipients in the Illinois State Board of Education’s 2006 Those Who Excel education awards program. The State Board annually sponsors the Those Who Excel awards to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the state’s public and non-public schools.

High School District 211 award-winners are (listed alphabetically):

  • Hoffman Estates High School’s Academic Support Team program (team category); Team members include Assistant Principal Jacquese Gilbert, English Teacher Mary Ann Laforet, Assistant Principal Timothy Little, Media Chair Debbie Storz, Mathematics Department Chair Mary Thomas, and Mathematics Teacher Leonore Ulaszek
  • High School District 211 Parent Edward Briggs (community volunteer category)
  • Palatine High School Media Department Chair Liz Broemmelsiek (student support personnel category)
  • James B. Conant School Bus Driver Kimberly Cropper (educational service personnel category)
  • William Fremd High School Physical Education Teacher Stephen Patton (classroom teacher category, and among the top 10 finalists for Illinois Teacher of the Year)
  • High School District 211 Associate Superintendent David Torres (administrator category)

Award recipients were honored by the Illinois State Board of Education at the Those Who Excel awards banquet on Saturday, October 7, 2006, in Decatur, Ill.
