Lauren Thomas
Director of Food Service
Director of Food Service Lauren Thomas aids in the establishment of safe and healthful procedures for the District’s food service department. She is responsible for upholding nutrition standards for meals provided to students. She also is responsible for adherence to National School Meal Program regulations, as well as assisting with training, purchasing, record keeping, and selection and evaluation of food service personnel.
Ms. Thomas graduated with a degree in dietetics from Illinois State University in 2003, and furthered her pursuit in dietetics by completing her master’s degree at Illinois State University in 2005. Ms. Thomas worked as a clinical and pediatric dietitian prior to arriving in District 211 in 2006.
