Summer School Initiatives for 2007

At the December 7, 2006 meeting, the Board of Education approved establishment of Sophomore Academy English and Sophomore Academy Mathematics programs for the summer of 2007. These three-week programs will be required for students who are predicted to not meet state standards in the respective disciplines as measured by the Prairie State Achievement Exam. Identified students will spend four hours per day over a three-week period improving their skills in their specific area of deficiency. It is estimated that approximately 200 students district-wide will be required to participate in the programs.
