High School District 211 to host special needs agency

Township High School District 211 will host Community Alternatives Unlimited (CAU), the first case management agency in Illinois to provide independent case management services to individuals with a wide range of developmental disabilities, including developmental disabilities, mental health needs, hearing, visual and physical impairments.

In conjunction with CAU, the State of Illinois has created Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS), a database used to record the numbers and needs of persons with developmental disabilities within Illinois to help plan for adequate funding and services. District 211 is inviting all families with disabled children 14 and older to register them with CAU. Registration must take place during a face-to-face interview that will last approximately 45 minutes. Interested individuals may participate in this opportunity either at Hoffman Estates High School (1100 W. Higgins in Hoffman Estates) on Thursday, March 20, 2008, from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m., or at Palatine High School (1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine) on Monday, March 31, 2008, from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m.

For more information regarding Community Alternatives Unlimited, contact Stephen Joseph at (847) 755-1851.
