National Merit ScholarsHigh School District 211 announces National Merit Scholars for 2007-20088 Township High School District 211 announces that 20 students have been named National Merit Scholars in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Competition. National Merit Scholars are selected based on scores on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (P.S.A.T./N.M.S.Q.T.). Those students scoring in the top 1/2 of one percent nationally qualify for the scholarship program. After completing a detailed application in October, students are screened and National Merit Scholars are selected. William Fremd High School students Scott M. Bezek, Nathan P. Foltz, Jordan L. Gorrell, Ruichao Liang, Carlie M. Schaeffer, Srona Sengupta, Nina K. Sheade, Laura Tong, and Dinan Wu have been named National Merit Scholars. National Merit Scholars from James B. Conant High School are Phillip M. Chang, Lisa M. Fuhrmann, Monica R. Fuhrmann, and Kristen E. Pietsch. Matthew A. Ardagh, Lauren A. Awdziejczyk, and Adam R. Hasz from Schaumburg High School have been named National Merit Scholars . Palatine High School’s National Merit Scholars are Suzanne K. Birner and Leah H. Schultz. Tiffany L.
