Sheldon Luo
Chief Information Officer
The chief information officer directs the District’s technology staff to support and improve student achievement by integrating technology throughout the District. Mr. Luo oversees all aspects related to technical systems, network infrastructure, and computer management. He actively plans and communicates how technology will support the District’s strategic and operational goals, and is responsible for leading the infusion of innovative technologies in all aspects of education. This includes implementation of industry best-practice methodologies, tools, and programs in support of technology. He directs and coordinates use of email, web tools, voicemail, systems, and other forms of communication. Mr. Luo plans for and coordinates ongoing technology-related staff development. He also is responsible for creating a shared vision for the District’s technology program among students, parents, staff, administration, and other stakeholders.
Mr. Luo is a graduate from The University of Chicago, Webster University , and Hunan University , holding degrees of MS in Computer Science, MBA , MA in Finance, and B.S. in Applied Mechanics
Mr. Luo has many years of experience in business and technology with expertise expanding to engineering, finance, manufacturing & distribution, international operations, and IT. Mr. Luo has extensive hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, software programming and architecture, database architecture, design, development and integration. Mr. Luo is an expert in cutting-edge technology with experience in both individual and collaborative work and excellent communication skills. Prior coming to District 211, Mr. Luo has served a wide range of clients from early stage ventures to fortune 100 companies, and has held management roles for clients as CFO/CIO/CTO, VP of technologies, Technology and Solution Architect. Mr. Luo also served as adjunct professor at some local colleges.
On the international front, Mr. Luo has extensive experience in P.R. China, Hong Kong, Middle East, Europe, and Australia .
