A Message from the Superintendent...

High School District 211 has been providing educational excellence for over 125 years.  The reputation of this district has been built by the achievements of our students, the professionalism of our staff, the commitment of supportive parents, and the stability of quality neighborhoods.  These efforts have not gone unnoticed as each of our schools has been nationally recognized by the United States Department of Education as Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence.  What this means is that our students have the best educational opportunities available to reach individual goals and to develop the greatest possible potential for the future.

It has been said, “People who work together will succeed.”  The schools and communities in this district have worked together over the years and have been successful in creating high schools that everyone takes pride in.

This brochure presents an overview of District 211.  For more information about our schools, please call Community Relations Coordinator Thomas Petersen at the G.A. McElroy Administration Center, (847) 755-6631, or visit our web site at www.d211.org.  To arrange a school tour, please contact the principal’s office.

I welcome and encourage your interest in our schools, and I appreciate your support.

Roger W. Thornton
Superintendent of Schools
