Colleen T. Little
Assistant to the Director of Special Education
Assistant Director of Special Education Colleen Little provides consultative services as needed to parents, the District’s special education staff, related services personnel, and the regular education faculty. She also implements the placement of students with a disability into educational facilities and programs outside of regular District schools, and serves as the District liaison to all Northwest Special Education Organization (NSSEO) programs and services. In addition, she assists in developing District policies and procedures regarding compliance with federal and state special education laws and regulations.
Mrs. Little received her bachelor of education degree in special education from Northern Illinois University in 1988 and her master of education in special education in 1993 from Northeastern Illinois University. She completed her school administration education and a Type 75 Administrative Certificate from Loyola University Chicago. She began her District 211 career as a special education teacher in 1989, was named special education department chair at Hoffman Estates High School in 1997 and assistant to the director of special education in 2006.
