Carl Garrison
Director of Administrative Services
Director
of Administrative Services Carl Garrison coordinates implementation of
the district’s attendance and discipline policies. He also
oversees district legal issues, student residency issues, and the Employee Assistance Program.
Additionally, Dr. Garrison is responsible for the coordination
and placement of students in the North Cook Young Adult
Academy and Ombudsman Program. He also works
closely with the Student Services departments of each school
to ensure that students receive the support necessary to
graduate high school. To this end, he works with Student
Services Directors, School Nurses, School Social Workers,
Registrars, College Counselors, Student Assistance Program
coordinators and various other student support related
groups.
Dr. Garrison graduated with his bachelor’s degree in
chemistry from North Central College in 1987. He received
his master’s degree in educational administration from
Illinois State University in 1994 and a Doctor of Education
degree from Illinois State University in 2004. He began his
education career as a teacher and coach at Palm Beach
Gardens High School (Fla.) in 1988 and moved to Normal
Community High School (Ill.) as a teacher and coach in 1989.
He became assistant principal at Macomb High School (Ill.)
in 1993 and York High School in 1998, before moving to
William Fremd High School where he first served as an
Assistant Principal and then as director of student services
beginning in the fall of 2000. Prior to being appointed
Director of Administrative Services, he was promoted to
Director of Student Extended Educational and Special
Services in 2004.
